A Family Legacy in Gold

Our story begins in Cairo in 1996, when our father, Engineer Mahmoud Al-Qazzaz, founded Mekka Jewellery. From the very beginning, gold was not just a trade — it was trust and integrity.

Through honest dealings and transparency, the name became known among customers who continued to trust us for years. As the business grew and expertise deepened, the vision expanded beyond Egypt — to reach the very sources of jewelry manufacturing.

In 2018, we opened our branch in Istanbul’s Kuyumcukent — Yenibosna, one of the world’s most important gold trade and manufacturing centers. This gave us direct access to the finest workshops and craftsmen in the Turkish market.

We noticed a gap in the market: most jewelry was either very traditional or overly complex in design. Meanwhile, a large segment of modern women were searching for practical, simple, and harmonious gold pieces they could wear daily without losing the investment value of gold. This is where the concept of Nur Jewellery was born.
